The directors of the Company are as follows:
Sir John Jennings, Independent Non-Executive Chairman
Sir John Jennings became a Group Managing Director of Shell in 1987 after
joining the board, which he chaired from 1994 to 1997. As a Managing Director he
had responsibility for the Group's business throughout Asia and Australasia and
in addition, for his last four years, was a Director of Shell Oil Company in the
USA and Chairman of Shell Canada. He retired from Shell in 1997 but remained a
non-executive director until 2001. Currently he is a non-executive Director of
the Bechtel Group International and Nexant Inc., both based in San Francisco,
and Chairman of Bechtel's companies in the UK. He was appointed CBE in 1985 and
Knighted in 1997 and has received a number of other awards and honorary degrees.
Harol Koyama, Chief Executive Officer
Harol (Hal) Koyama is IdaTech's Chief Executive Officer and joined IdaTech in
November 2003. Mr. Koyama has had more than thirteen years of diversified
international sales & marketing experience and general strategic business
development for worldwide onsite generation applications within the Combined
Heat and Power, Oil and Gas and Waste Fuel power generation markets. Throughout
his career, Mr. Koyama has been responsible for identifying promising markets,
increasing sales and implementing communications and advertising campaigns. Most
recently, Mr. Koyama was Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at
Capstone Turbine Corporation (Capstone), a leading micro-turbine producer where
he streamlined sales and marketing and accelerated market development efforts
worldwide. Prior to his work at Capstone, Mr. Koyama was Vice President of
Business Development for fuel cell company International Fuel Cells (a United
Technologies Corporation business). Mr. Koyama also has over five years
experience as a management consultant with the international consulting firm,
McKinsey & Company, focusing on energy and operations issues. Mr. Koyama
holds a degree in Physics/ Mathematics from the University of Oregon, a Masters
Equivalent in Nuclear Engineering from the Naval Nuclear Power Training and a
Masters in Business Administration from the Stanford University Graduate School
of Business.
James Cooke, Chief Financial Officer
James Cooke is IdaTech's Chief Financial Officer having joined on 1 May 2007.
Mr Cooke is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England &
Wales and has more than 12 years experience of senior financial and operational
management positions in a number of industries. From May 2000 to October 2006,
he was the Finance Director of Datong Electronics PLC, a defence electronics
company which is admitted to trading on AIM. Before that Mr Cooke worked at
Investec for over eight years, acting as Managing Director of a Division trading
in endowment policies, managing and finding appropriate exits for the private
equity portfolio and as a financial controller of one of their divisions. Before
working at Investec, Mr Cooke was the Group Financial Controller of a privately
owned international leisure group reporting directly to the owner on all
financial matters, controls and acquisition targets. Mr Cooke holds a Bachelor
of Science in Biochemistry.
Angus Fraser, Independent Non-Executive Director
Angus Fraser joined Chloride Group PLC in 1976 in their overseas operations
and was an executive director of the company from 1984 to 1988. Mr. Fraser
worked in Europe and the Far East and was Chairman, Chloride Europe between 1983
and 1985. Between 1988 and 2006, he served as a non-executive director of
Chloride Group PLC, becoming senior independent director in 2001 and chairing
the Audit Committee between 2001 and 2005. From 1989 to 1994, Mr. Fraser was the
Managing Director of Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine and
from 1995 until 1997 he was the Chief Executive of Scruttons plc, an industrial
company admitted to trading on AIM. Mr. Fraser has since held a number of
independent director and chairman appointments with public and private
companies, including an early stage technology development company.
Michael Lacey-Solymar, Non-Executive Director
Michael Lacey-Solymar joined Investec in October 2005 after 18 years with UBS
Investment Bank. At UBS, Mr. Lacey-Solymar spent ten years in international
M&A and became head of the UK mid-market team from 1999 to 2005. As such, he
had responsibility for coverage of UK listed companies with a market cap up to
£1 billion across all sectors. At Investec, he remains focussed on mid-market
companies across all sectors.
Alan Lloyd, Independent Non-Executive Director
Alan Lloyd is currently the President of the International Council on Clean
Transportation and Chairman of the Economic and Technology Advancement Advisory
Committee of the California Air Resources Board (ARB). He served as the
Secretary of the California Environmental Protection Agency ("Cal/EPA") from
2004 through February 2006, Chairman of the ARB from 1999 to 2004 and Chairman
of the US Department of Energy Hydrogen Technical Advisory Panel. Prior to
joining ARB, Dr. Lloyd was the Executive Director of the Energy and
Environmental Engineering Centre for the Desert Research Institute at the
University and Community College System of Nevada, Reno, and the Chief Scientist
at the South Coast Air Quality Management until 1996. He earned both his
Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and PhD in Gas Kinetics at the University
College of Wales, Aberystwyth, UK.
David Smith, Independent Non-Executive Director
David Smith has more than twenty years of experience in research and
development and business management, having spent most of his career in various
management positions with BP. In 1987 he was appointed a Vice- President of
R&D at BP America, before returning to BP Research Centre, Sunbury as a
General Manager. In 1992 he was appointed Head of BP Group Research and
Engineering, the senior BP technical post directly and indirectly associated
with the Group's technical population of around 9000. During 1994-2001 Dr. Smith
served as CEO and Chief Technology Officer of Whatman PLC. He is currently a
non-executive director of Murphy Oil Corporation. He holds a PhD and a Bachelor
of Science. He was awarded the CBE in 1999 for services to technology transfer.
