iGen System

Extended Run Backup Power Fuel Cell System

IdaTech's iGen™ System is an extended run backup power fuel cell system designed to augment batteries, photovoltaic panels and/or small wind turbines for hybrid power generation applications in both grid-connected and off-grid applications.

Compact and outdoor rated, the system operates on a blend of methanol and water for extended run backup power. This liquid fuel, coupled with Idatech's fuel processing technology enables on demand production of hydrogen for applications requiring clean, quiet and reliable power. By generating its own hydrogen, the need for delivery and storage of bottled hydrogen is eliminated.

Utilizing IdaTech's advanced proton exchange membrane (PEM) technology, iGen™ systems produce 250W of clean, quiet backup power for extended time periods. Battery charging is automatic and seamless anytime battery voltage falls below the customer configurable start voltage threshold.

The iGen™ system includes remote monitoring and control capability which permits users to view system state and monitor a wide range of performance parameters.

The low maintenance iGen™ system provides an economical alternative to redundant battery strings, additional PV panels and high-maintenance generators. The efficient, dependable, environmentally friendly iGen™ system is another example of IdaTech's leadership in providing power for the long run.
